Canadian Chatty Cathy Piggy Rooting Pattern

			Notice how the hair is rooted straight down the part...
			around the perimeter of the head...
			down the part to back of the neck...
			and again the perimeter.   This is the Canadian rooting pattern, plus all Canadian dolls have soft faces.  The soft faces can have the cheeks squished together.  The hard faces cannot.

To tell if any of type of Chatty is Canadian can be done in several ways; they should have:  Coarse Hair; Figure 8 freckle pattern; bubblegum colored lips; all over peachy coloring and be a soft face.

If you are relying on the patent, that is a false indicator.   ALL chatty cathy dolls produced during the Canadian patent pending stated "Pt'd in Canada".  That was to show Mattel's application for patent in Canada.  They feared their new idea being stolen and had all the bodies sealed until the 4th generation chatty after the patent had been completed.  The actual Canadian chatties were made by Dee & Cee on Mattel's behalf.
